After toiling away for years to get good grades, the time has finally come for you to go out into the corporate world.

Congratulations!

We understand that it can be scary out there to be on your own. Job Searching can be daunting and the most nerve-racking part is facing an interview. But, do not worry for we’ve got your back.

Job interview tips for freshers.

Do your Research:

The night before the interview, go online and research everything you can about the company, interviewer, and important heads. You can get information from the company website or their social media profiles. Knowing things about them which are professional in nature will impress the interviewer.

Preparation is Key:

Google the most common job interview questions. Try to formulate answers for each question and keep practicing till you feel like you are ready to face the interviewer. When the time comes, you will be able to answer with confidence in the interview.

Practice makes Perfect:

Days before the interview, ask your family or friends to help you by taking your mock interviews. As there are different types of interview selection process such as virtual interview, panel interview, group interview, and face to face interview, prepare for each of them just to be confident in every type. You could also stand in front of a mirror and interview yourself. This will give you confidence when the time for a real interview comes.

Dress Appropriately:

When they call you for the interview, ask the person making the call about their office dress code. If you didn’t get a chance to, you could never go wrong with semi-formals. Avoid wearing bright color clothes. Dark and neutral tones are the best choices.  Interviewers will take you seriously if you dress appropriately.

Don’t zone out; Listen:

One important factor for good communication is listening. From the very beginning to the end, listen to the interviewer. Do not space out. Nod your head or smile every now and then to let them know that you are listening. If you don’t, you might miss out on important information.

Mind Your Body Language:

Practice non-verbal communication such as body language. Sit straight but not too stiff and maintain eye contact. Don’t forget to blink and smile. Do not fidget or play with your hair during the interview.

Take time to answer if you need to:

If the interviewer asks you a question you are not prepared for, tell them that you need a minute or two to think about it. This will give you more time to formulate an answer.

Take at least 3 Resumes with you:

First, ensure that your resume is professionally written and has all the necessary information such as your educational background, experiences, achievements, and awards. Take at least 3 resumes with you when you go for the interview, some of the company heads might want to have a look as well. So, it’s better to be prepared than to be sorry.

Wait for your turn to talk:

Never interrupt the interviewer whilst they are speaking. They will definitely give you time to speak. At the end of the interview, you will be given time to ask questions to the interviewer too. Make sure that you do. Asking questions shows that you are serious about the job and that you are eager to learn.

Be Confident:

The moment you enter the interview room till the time you leave, be confident. But do not be overconfident that you come off as a cocky person. Do not be too desperate either.

End on a Good Note:

When the interview ends ensure that it is on a good note. Thank them and wish them well. Also, send a thank you note within 24 hours after the interview. Thank them and tell them that you are waiting to hear back from them soon. This will make you stand out from other candidates.

We hope these interview tips for freshers as well as professionals help you in landing your dream job.

We will leave you here with our best wishes.

Good luck!
