The most challenging decision I’ve ever had to make was changing my major in the first year of college. I started my first year by taking English as my major because I love to read and write. I have always known that I wanted to become a writer since middle school. The second semester came, and I knew I needed to explore my options while still focusing on writing, and Journalism was the ideal course for me as I also have an interest in photography and graphic PR.
I contemplated losing an entire year for weeks and made a list of pros and cons. In the end, the pros won, and I was happy with it. With my parents’ blessings, I finally changed my major, and although I may have lost a year, it was a decision that I regret making.
Question 5. Can you handle working under pressure?
This is a common hr interview question for freshers. A crisis may occur every once in a while, and there are times when you will have to work under pressure. Interviewers ask this question because they want to know if you will crack or be stable while working under pressure.

One achievement I am most proud of happened in the third year of college when I helped a fellow student who was about to drop out of college because his family faced some financial struggle. I could see that he was stressed and depressed because of it, so I approached him and asked him what I could do to help. I came up with a plan to do a piece about his hardship and publish it in our department magazine. He agreed.
As it turns out, his father, the family’s breadwinner, had cancer, and they had to use his college fund for the treatment. I wrote his story and asked the magazine editor to publish it, omitting mine and the person’s name. Many students and professors sent donations to the editor within a week. He then handed them to the person who is now a graduate like me.
The department magazine now has a page for needy students.
It was a rewarding and wonderful experience and achievement.

Question 16. What kind of working environment do you work best in?
Here, the interviewer wants to know if you would fit in nicely with the company culture. As you probably don’t know about the work environment there yet, it’s best to provide an answer that the interviewer will appreciate.

For as long as I can remember, I’ve always been passionate about writing and reading. I’ve always known that I wanted to be a writer. While my short-term goal is to become a content writer while pursuing my certification in an online digital marketing course, the ultimate goal is to climb the ladder of success and become an editor-in-chief someday.
Question 20. Are you willing to relocate?
Most of the time, this is when the interview goes south for both the interviewer and the candidate if they cannot relocate. Then again, it can also go another way, and it would be a win-win situation for both.
- Be honest.
- If yes, show your enthusiasm and appreciation.
- If no, state your reason.
- As this is my dream job and I would work with one of the best content marketing companies, it would be an honour to work for you. So, I would be open to relocation.
- A year ago, I would have happily jumped on the opportunity to relocate for such a position. But, as I have recently purchased a flat and my kids have started their schools, relocation is not an option for me at the moment. However, I’d be more than willing to make it work remotely if it’s an option.
Question 21. Do you have any questions for us?
This is a commonly-asked question and usually comes at the end of the interview. Whenever you are asked this question, be prepared to ask your question(s) as it will show your interest in the position and company and your confidence and professionalism.
- If you do not have any questions, the least you could ask is, “When can I expect to hear back from you?” or “What are the next steps in the interview process?”
